Cort’s KX508MS is the brand’s first eight-string, multi-scale model

Cort has unveiled the KX508MS, its first-ever eight-string, multi-scale electric guitar. Part of the KX series, this axe features a Mariana Blue Burst finish over a poplar burl top and Fishman pickups tailored for eight-strings.
KX508MS features a swamp ash body, a five-piece maple neck with two streaks of purpleheart inlays, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard. It also features a double-cutaway design for increased access, while its 26.5-to-28-inch multi-scale construction contributes to playability.

Moving on to electronics, the axe is loaded with a Fishman Fluence Modern humbucker set designed specifically for an eight-string. These ceramic pups are designed to exhibit characteristics of both active and passive units. Though a wide variety of tones are touted, controls on the guitar remain relatively simple: one master volume knob, one master tone knob and a three-way pickup selector.
Retails for $1,199.99. More info at cortguitars.com.
