Korg debuts new gear at Superbooth Berlin

Korg debuts new gear at Superbooth Berlin

Korg has chosen Berlin’s Superbooth electronic music fair (9-11 May) to unveil three new products destined to be available this coming summer.

First up is the volca nubass, billed as: ‘A powerful bass synth with a sound source derived from a vacuum tube oscillator’.

Korg says the volca nubass is the first analog synth to be equipped with a Nutube vacuum tube oscillator circuit, ‘…resulting in a sound that is warm, thick and harmonically rich. The familiar transistor ladder filter delivers the character of a classic bass machine, along with overdrive, and huge-sounding distortion. An acid bass machine for a new generation combines classic sound with the power of modern synthesizer design.’

Korg Minilogue XD Module

Added to the minilogoe range, meanwhile, is the new minilogue XD desktop module. The XD module is equipped with the same controls as the keyboard version: ‘…making it a great choice for use both as a sound module or for live performance,’ Korg says. Equipped with a poly-chain function, the minilogue xd module allows users to connect to another minilogue xd or minilogue xd module so the two units can operate as a polysynth with a total of up to eight voices.

Also new is the SEQUENZ volca rack. ‘A great new way to set-up your volca collection’, Korg says. ‘volca racks are all about “volcanomics” (volcas + ergonomics). Up to four volcas can be arranged as desired and securely placed in the durable aluminium frame which has rubber feet for stability.

‘The asymmetrical wood side panels enable you to flip the rack to be deeper or taller, resulting in versatility and great looks’.
