New DW snare + drum bags from GEWA

GEWA has announced UK availability of DW Drums’ PDP Concept Walnut Maple snare, which  consists of a 20-ply hybrid shell with 18 layers of European maple and two layers of walnut, inside and outside, with a ‘fine natural satin finish’. The snare is also equipped with Drum Workshop True Pitch tension rods and a Drum Workshop MAG snare throw-off.

The PDO snare drum is factory-fitted with REMO heads and is available in the following sizes: 13×7, 14×5.5, 14×6.5 & 14×8. ‘All sizes have a fat, rough tone and pronounced attack,’ GEWA promises.

Simultaneously, GEWA announced a newly designed range of SPS drum bags. ‘Its carbon look is immediately eye-catching,’ the maker says. A special feature designed to offer high cymbal protection is the magnetic closure on the cymbal bag, which provides comfortable, easy closure.

SPS Drum Bags are available for all drums in the following sizes: Gig bag for tom tom (8×7 to 18×16 inches), Gig bag for snare drum (10×6 to 14×8 inches), Gig bag for bass drum (18×14 to 26×18 inches). There are also matching SPS Drum Bags for hardware, which are in sizes 31 x 31cm with lengths 70 cm, 95 cm and 120 cm. The cymbal bags are available in 22 and 24 inches, with the 22- inch cymbal bag also available with a retractable backpack system.

The bags are prevented from rolling away by their straightened base, GEWA says, and the company has paid particular attention to the zip system, using YKK zippers to offer the best security. For optimum cymbal protection, the pockets are equipped with fleece inlays in addition to the 20mm padding, so that the cymbals cannot collide with each other.
