Fender Blues Junior III Bordeaux Reserve Limited Edition amp
Yet another Fender FSR product, this time it is a Blues Junior III Bordeaux Reserve Limited Edition amp. This little 15w combo is upgraded where it counts and comes in a rather fetching colour palette as well.
This upgraded Blues Junior III has had a few tweaks here and there to make it more appealing to all you ‘cork sniffing’ tone hounds. With an upgraded Jensen P12Q speaker instead of the standard Eminence model of the factory models, this little 15w combo should hopefully sound as good as it looks.
Fender has decided to go with a Wine Red covering and a wheat grille cloth. I must say, I do think it looks really good. It’s subtle and not overtly ‘blingy‘.
Elsewhere you get the usual EL84 valve output section with rattle reducing shocks absorbers and the Blues Junior III’s sparkle circuit modification as well.
Price wise, it isn’t the cheapest small combo on the market. But to be fair it is well thought out and should sound a lot nicer with that Jensen speaker upgrade. I think it’s actually well priced for what is on offer. With two EL84 power tubes, three 12AX7 preamp tubes, a spring reverb and foot-switchable fat boost, you are getting quite a lot of bang for the buck with this little combo.
I think these FSR lines add something to Fender’s range and even though the ‘upgrades’ are quite subtle. I believe they are, at least on paper, ones that should make a noticeable tonal difference to the standard runs.
RRP – GBP 679
