LTweed: A vintage-styled facelift for Fender Bassbreaker 15 combo
First, let’s be clear about what we have here. This ‘new’ Fender Bassbreaker 15 LTweed combo is the same as the regular grey Bassbreaker combo but with vintage styling. So, if you’re into a more traditional look, this amp might have extra appeal for you.
Tweed, of course, is a fabric that shouts ‘classic 1950s’, an era many guitarists and bassists associate with great Fender amplifiers. So it makes sense that they would choose this colour combination for a limited edition of the Bassbreaker 15 combo its have named the ‘LTweed’.
Class A/B and powered by 3 x 12AX7 and 2x EL84 valves, this little 15-Watt combo is aimed at smaller rooms, quieter bands, home use and recording duties. The amp is equipped with single 12” 8-Ohm Celestion V-Type speaker and also has a speaker-emulated record out, making it suitable for feeding into a DAW or PA system. There’s also a selection of speaker output ratings at 4, 8, 16 Ohms via a jack on the rear. There’s no headphone output or footswitch connector, though.
Altogether, this looks like a handy little all-rounder. It’s made in Mexico, so it’s not overly expensive. And the tweed livery is quite fetching. Nothing official on Fender’s main site yet, but Thomann has them listed with all the details here.
RRP EUR 759
