New models cement Hamer’s return

Hamer Guitars, the US brand that has been played by bands as diverse as Aerosmith, The Sex Pistols and Jethro Tull has two new models as part of its reincarnation under the control of JAM Industries. Hamer, which was in danger of disappearing, along with Ovation and Guild, when Kaman was sold to Fender in 2007, is now back in business (as are Ovation and Guild, under separate ownership) with the Hamer Sunburst Model SFTF-CS-D and Hamer Monaco “Special K” Model MONKI-NT-D, both of which are available for immediate delivery.

The new Hamer Sunburst (Model SFTF-CS-D) is based on the original flat top Sunburst models from late 1970s that feature Hamer’s signature body design. The new Sunburst features a flamed maple veneer over a solid mahogany body and a period authentic sunburst finish. The set neck is fitted with an ebony fretboard with jumbo frets, and dual hot-rodded zebra Hamer humbuckers and fixed bridge. In the absence of a current UK distributor, US prices are: MSRP of $874.00 (MAP $699.99).

The new Hamer Monaco “Special K” (Model MONKJ-NT-D) features a solid korina single cut body and korina neck with ebony fret board and jumbo frets and is based on a limited edition, and much sought after, custom shop model from 2005. The guitar features two soapbar P90 pickups and a wrap-around Wilkinson bridge. The US price is MSRP of $874.00 (MAP $699.99).
