Remo’s Manchester DrummerNight raises over £21,000

DrummerNight presented by Remo has now raised in excess of £21,000 on behalf of Teenage Cancer Trust, Remo reports.

Part One was the concert at Manchester Central on the 23rd September 2017 in conjunction with The UK Drum Show. The show featured drummers put together by Karl Brazil (Robbie Williams, James Blunt) included Tommy Aldridge (Whitessake, Ozzy Osbourne), Joe Donovan (The Blossoms), Mike Dolbear (educator & website), Andy Gangadeen (Chase & Status, The Bays), Gerald Heyward (Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé, Michael Jackson), Thomas Lang (clinician & drummers’ drummer), Jamie Morrison (Stereophonics),  Al Murray (comedian and “very good drummer”), Alexis Nunez (The Kooks), Simon Phillips (Toto, Hiromi, etc),  John “JR” Robinson (Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, etc),  Ralph Salmins (The Water Boys),  Matty Smith (Stormzy, Plan B), Jeremy Stacey (King Crimson), Gary Wallis (Tom Jones, Mike & the Mechanics, Pink Floyd),  Steve White (Paul Weller, The Players etc) and John Thomson, (drummer, comedian and actor, best known for his roles in The Fast Show, Men Behaving Badly and Cold Feet) – who also compared the evening.

The world-class drummers were supported by a band of leading musicians, including Sean Berry (Olly Murs) Keyboards,  Adam Wakeman (Black Sabbath) Keyboards/Guitar, Oscar Golding (James Arthur) Bass, Tom Longworth (Robbie Williams) Guitar, the brass section from Tom Jones’s band and vocalists Sara-Jane Skeete (Robbie Williams), Nayanna Holley (Robbie Williams), Ryan Molloy (Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Jersey Boys West End production).

DrummerNight was supported by: British Drum Company, DW, Gretsch, Mapex, Pearl, Sakae, Sonor, Tama, Yamaha and the cymbal companies Istanbul, Paiste, Sabian, Zildjian, plus Innovative Percussion and Vic Firth, as well as The UK Drum Show.

Part Two was the auction of gifted signed merchandise organised by Remo for Teenage Cancer Trust. Donations from Rob Bourdon (Linkin Park), Will Champion (Coldplay), Nathan Followill (Kings of Leon), Simon Hanson (Squeeze), Taylor Hawkins & Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Ian Matthers (Kasabian), Nico McBrain (Iron Maiden), Jamie Morrison (Stereophonics), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Zak Starkey (The Who), Ronnie Vanucci, jr (The Killers).
