Guru Drums’ guru to stand down

Guru Drums’ guru to stand down

Andy Crosby, the brains behind well respected UK maker Guru Drums, is preparing to ‘step away’ from the business during the first half of 2019 due to ill health.

Crosby, who suffered a stroke in early July this year, is recovering well but says: ‘Inevitably, such a life event promotes reflection and evaluation.

‘We’ve always conducted our business with complete honesty and integrity, and that’s not going to stop now.  At this time, we don’t have a fully formed plan, and I realise that an early announcement like this has a potential impact on the business, but it’s just another part of “doing it right” – our valued clients have a right to know what’s going on in the background, and in our minds, it’s disingenuous to do otherwise.

Guru Tour Series

‘It may be that we pass the baton on to others, and we’re certainly happy to have productive discussions with anyone interested in any aspect of the business. If we can’t find the right people to work with the strong brand, trademarks, ethic, and instrument legacy of Guru Drums, we’ll likely call it a day later next year, but not before we’ve made absolutely sure that all clients are satisfied and equipped to enjoy their inheritance grade instruments for many years to come.

‘This year’s UK Drum Show will be my last representing Guru Drums, but you’re not getting rid of me that easily – I enjoy this wonderful show too much!  This year, we’ll have some stunning examples of the very best Guru has ever created, and with only one or two exceptions, it’s all for sale’.
