Leak: Images of a “Fusebox” synthesizer from Analogue Solutions emerge

Analogue Solutions posted an image to social media overnight (probably to distract themselves from the unfolding election drama) of a small part of a new orange coloured device. On Twitter it was labelled as “a new synth coming soon”. Well, we’ve got our hands on loads more images. Let’s see what we can make of this new fruitily-hued synthesizer.

Fusebox

First of all, it’s called the Fusebox and it has “Real analogue voice and modulation circuits”. Apparently, it’s been designed from the ground up using all new components and improved technology. It takes nothing from previous Analogue Solutions devices. It has 3 oscillators, all with FM, sync and pulse width modulation. There are 2 envelope generators and a multimode filter. There’s one main LFO with delay and re-trigger but 2 of the VCOs can also be used as LFOs. A noise and sub oscillator rounds off the sound generation. There’s an arpeggiator, a “Patternator” and a rather interesting Interval Generator.

The front panel has a whole raft of patch points as well as MIDI control and MIDI-to-CV conversion.

This is no Eurorack device, it’s a heftily sized desktop synth, but it will play really nicely with a modular set up. I’m told that it has a classic “vintage” analogue sound in the lineage of the Telemark but with improved circuit design and components.

No news on price or availability just yet but hopefully more information will be forthcoming from Analogue Solutions as soon as they are ready.
