New models from P. Mauriat
Woodwind and brass specialists P. Mauriat has unveiled its latest models. Leading the new releases is the System-76 2nd Edition Soprano, about which distributor JHS says: ‘The System-76 2nd Edition Soprano Saxophone takes the original System-76’s dynamic tone, unrivalled build quality and stunning visual appeal to new and improved heights’.
System-76 2nd Edition Soprano Saxophones feature a hand-engraved, two-neck (straight and curved) detachable body. Key touches are genuine abalone, featuring dark pearl or mother of pearl depending on the saxophone’s finish. Available in three finishes; SS762-GL Gold Lacquer (RRP £2,149), SS762-DK Dark Vintage (RRP £2,299) and SS762-UL Un-lacquered (RRP £2,499), each instrument ships with a BG Super Revelation Ligature as standard, as well as a soft case for storing and transporting a saxophone.
Also new are two new Soprano saxophone models. Sporting genuine abalone key touches, a curved body, and hand-engraved bow and bell, the PMSS2400 is a professional-class saxophone with a range of Low Bb to high F#. JHS says it’s an ideal instrument for any player looking to expand his or her gigging and recording arsenal.
As with all P. Mauriat saxophones the PMSS2400 Curved Soprano ships with a BG Super Revelation Ligature as standard, as well as a padded, zip-up carry case for safe storage and easy transportation.
The PMSS2400 is available in Dark Vintage (RRP £2,149) and Gold Lacquer (RRP £1,999)
Finally, the new range of P. Mauriat Contoured Soft Cases is designed to provide a superior level of protection and practicality for saxophones. Each Contoured Soft Case is equipped with a lightweight shock-absorbent frame, durable 1200D poly fabric, a pair of padded handles featuring Velcro closures, and Velcro quick lock. Roomy exterior pockets provide ample space for storing accessories and cleaning products, while an organiser makes it simple to keep items separate.
The interior of each case has a plush, blue velvet lining to protect a saxophone from dents and scratches, and a hidden interior compartment provides further storage options. A padded shoulder strap is provided for ease of transportation.
The case is available in two sizes; PMSC-A Alto Sax (RRP £349) and PMSC-T Tenor Sax (RRP £389).
