Jeff Rosenstock drops surprise album NO DREAM

Jeff Rosenstock has dropped a surprise release, a full-length studio album entitled NO DREAM. It’s his fourth solo release, and the second to receive a release with no prior announcement.
The album, which arrived on streaming services yesterday (20 May), was recorded in February 2020 at Atomic Garden Recording Studios in Oakland. Jack Shirley produced, as he has for the rest of Rosenstock’s solo studio albums: 2015’s We Cool?, 2016’s Worry, and 2018’s POST-.
Speaking about the record in a statement to fans on his mailing list, Rosenstock revealed that he didn’t initially intend for it to be a surprise release, but the ongoing pandemic stopping live music for the foreseeable future meant he wanted to roll it out as soon as possible: “We had big fun plans of releasing this record this summer, touring the world and seeing everyone again. Frustratingly, like everyone in a band right now… we have no idea when we’re going to be able to play shows for you again. Once we accepted that reality, we wanted to get this record to you as soon as we possibly could.”
