Billy Corgan promotes new Smashing Pumpkins album in eight languages using AI
Earlier this month, the Smashing Pumpkins unleashed their 13th studio record, Aghori Mhori Mei. It comes as a dazzling return to form, with Billy Corgan and the gang delivering a slew of prog-infused rock and roll bangers.
While the record is a strong dose of classic Pumpkins, Aghori Mhori Mei was released with very little fanfare. The band refrained from releasing teaser tracks, with sole single Sighommi dropping on the same day as the album’s release. But now, Corgan is taking promotion into his own hands.

In a string of AI-enhanced videos, the Pumpkins frontman is encouraging fans to listen to the band’s new record. And he’s making sure everybody can understand his plea, the AI technology translating his message into eight different languages.
The original video was recorded in Corgan’s native English, before AI company Curious Refuge translated it into French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese.
“Hello, everyone – William Patrick Corgan here of the Smashing Pumpkins, speaking to you through the magic of AI!” Corgan’s message begins.
“But don’t worry!” he continues. “Before AI destroys everything, including all culture, please know the Smashing Pumpkins have a new album out, Aghori Mhori Mei! That’s right, a return to our old-school roots! Billy, Jimmy, and James, getting back to the old-school guitar style that we’re known for!”
With a new record and new guitarist, it’s a pretty exciting time to be a Pumpkins fan right now. Kiki Wong wasn’t involved in the recording of Aghori Mhori Mei, but she’ll be performing the record live and putting her own spin on tracks.
To celebrate the new record, you can grab tickets to catch the grunge legends on tour. The Smashing Pumpkins are currently trekking round American in support of Green Day.
