Sterling Majesty Royal Red

First timer here so go easy lol…

I recently purchased a near new John Petrucci Majesty Royal Red..my dream guitar!

Really disappointed with it, cant handle any high gain stuff, sounds weak and thin. I can just get a decent sound with a clean amp and a overdrive peadal in front of it which is ok for Rock stuff…

Anyone else had the same experience?
Wondering if I have a fake lol
