Sterling Ray4 neck question

Hello? I’m fairly new to bass, mainly a guitarist, and I have a Musicman Stingray passed down to my by father, but because of its sentimental value, I’ve decided to keep it mainly stored in its case. So for recording, I bought a Sterling Ray4 with a maple neck, and I’m loving it. My only problem is that I prefer a rosewood fretboard, and I saw that a Ray2 comes with a purpleheart fretboard.
