JHS Announces New Sales Role Appointments

JHS is delighted to announce that effective 3rd August 2020, Tom Newis will be expanding his Sales Office Representative role to look after JHS dealers in the South East and South West of England, The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland with a mixture of telesales and face to face visits.

Tom, who has many years of experience in music retail, working in several leading stores in London’s West End and latterly at PMT in Leeds, has developed a keen awareness and understanding of how the retail music industry functions and after 3 years working with JHS has matched that with solid distribution sales knowledge and experience to give the ideal blend of understanding of what’s required from both perspectives.

Tom’s gregarious and outgoing nature has also seen him leading the charge as “demo guy” and front man at many of JHS appearances at various product shows around the country, engaging with and explaining a huge range of JHS products to consumers.

JHS’ Irish customers will be familiar with Tom, who will now be bringing the benefits of his terrific personality, and industry and product knowledge to a wider dealer audience.

Outside of work, Tom is an enthusiastic and talented guitarist, and can be found honing his playing, performing and recording skills with his “Originals” band in and around Leeds.

JHS is also delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Rothwell as Sales Office Representative.

Alex, who joined JHS in October 2019 will be familiar to JHS dealers from his time as a Sales Office Assistant.

An accomplished guitarist and music producer with a BA Hons in Music Technology & Popular Music from the University of Huddersfield, Alex has experience in music education, both as a guitar teacher and working in secondary schools teaching music.

Alex has a broad knowledge of the products in the JHS range. As a regular gigging musician, performing in a Britpop cover band, working for a music agency as a live sound engineer and as a keen musician and song writer himself, performing, recording and producing his own music and working with other talented artists to produce theirs, he also has a keen understanding of how the products we all sell are used in the real world.

Outside of work and his musical activities, Alex is also a recreational pilot, which requires diligence, focus, determination, a cool head, great attention to detail, accuracy and tenacity, valuable attributes in a busy commercial environment.

With a business background which includes music retail and the day to day running of a retail business, webstore construction and his time at JHS, he has great insight into what trade customers and consumers need, how music distribution and retail functions and what JHS customers expect from a distributor.

Effective 4th August 2020, Alex will be looking after JHS customers in the JHS “home territory”, stretching from Hull to Liverpool, Scotland and the North of England, and the East of England with a mixture of tele sales and face to face visits.
