Brian Nunney 90th

Brian Nunney 90th

Brian Nunney the former Founder and MD of Roland UK had his 90th Birthday on Sunday 3rd December   He celebrated with a small Party at the RAF club in London, where family and close friends attended (train strikes permitting!)

Roland products began their life in Japan in the early 70’s and were first distributed in the UK by Brodr Jorgensen UK, as part of a European network overseen from Copenhagen. The UK distribution channel of Roland was first implemented by Brian Nunney in 1975, working at home with a modest capital of £5,000.
In December 1980, Brian Nunney started negotiations for buying Brodr Jorgensen UK.

The Roland corporation in the guise of Ikutaro Kakehashi, gave the necessary assurance for supporting the proposals with the result that the acquisition proceeded and a new company, Roland (UK) Ltd began as a joint 50/50 venture with the Roland Japan.

Brian, along with Fred Mead and Ken Stoddard, laid the foundation of a hugely successful company, that was able to achieve outstanding results. They worked hard and played hard, building an employee “family” that everyone was proud to be part of. They still are!

Brian retired in 1996 and now lives in France with his wife.

We wish him a belated Happy Birthday.
