Cort announces the Gold-OC8 Nylon acoustic
Cort has announced the first nylon-string model in its Gold Series range, the Gold-OC8 Nylon.
The range of flagship acoustics from Cort all offer some premium appointments and construction, and the OC8 Nylon is no different. Cort bills the guitar as “a modern take on the oldest form of guitar.” The most obvious modern features include the Fishman Flex Blend system, a preamp that allows you to blend the tones of an under-saddle piezo and an internal condenser microphone for natural and clear tone.
It also features a double-lock neck joint, combining a dovetail with a screw for a strong connection between body and neck. The 20-fret ebony fretboard sits atop a walnut-reinforced mahogany neck, running into a Venetian-style cutaway.
The Orchestra Model-style body also features a solid engelmann spruce top, and pau ferro back and sides with the dark wood grain on full display under a transparent finish. The engelmann spruce top has also been treated with Cort’s Aged-To-Vintage torrefaction process, which the manufacturer says allows a “brand-new guitar to have the big, open tone of a decades-old acoustic.” The bridge is ebony, alongside a bone nut and saddle, and Cort Vintage Classic tuners.
The Gold-OC8 Nylon lists for $1,499.99, and ships with a deluxe soft case. Find out more at cortguitars.com.
