Cort introduces the KX500 Etched, ready for players of heavy rock
Cort has introduced the KX500 Etched, the new flagship model of the company’s KX Series of electric guitars. This instrument was designed especially for players of heavy genres, with active humbuckers and multiple voices suited for djent metal to modern to prog rock.
The KX500 Etched has a mahogany body, and gets its name from its 3D, multi-layered ash burl top – finished in black. According to Cort, this exotic top wood’s sonic character is “brilliant and sparkling with a solid punchy midrange”, making it an ideal pairing to the warmer-sounding mahogany body.
It has a five-piece maple and purpleheart neck, with a Macassar ebony fingerboard and 24 frets. The raindrop inlays that adorn this guitar’s fingerboard were also designed especially for this model.
Moving on to electronics, the KX500 equips a duo of Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers, which are controlled with a push/pull volume knob, letting you choose between two voices, and a push/pull tone knob, which acts as a coil split. There’s also a three-way pickup selector.
As for this guitar’s hardware, which is finished in Black Nickel, there’s a hardtail bridge, a spoke nut hot rod truss rod for adjusting the neck, and Cort staggered locking machine heads.
