Fender announces three new amplifiers for 2021: the ’68 Custom Pro Reverb, the ’68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb and the Mustang Micro
Fender has just announced three new amplifiers for 2021: the ’68 Custom Pro Reverb, the ’68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb and the Mustang Micro. The first two are reimaginings of classic all-tube ’60s Fender amps, while the latter is a small digital modelling headphone amplifier.
’68 Custom Pro Reverb
Image: FenderThis 40-watt guitar amplifier features a single 12-inch Celestion Neo Creamback speaker, a single channel, and two inputs. Controls for the main amplification circuitry include volume, treble, middle and bass, as well as a bright switch. You can also dial in the amount of reverb, as well as the speed and intensity of the amp’s tremolo.
It lists for $1,299.99 / £1,349 / €1,499.
’68 Custom Vibro Champ
Image: FenderThis 5-watt amplifier is geared for home use, practice and gigs where you don’t need to be particularly loud. It’s fitted with a 10-inch Celestion speaker, and comes with in-built tremolo and hall reverb. Amp controls are a stripped back set: just volume, treble and bass present here, as well as knobs for the amount of reverb and the speed and intensity of the tremolo.
It lists for $749.99 / 799 / €899.
Image: FenderThis little headphone unit features a selection of tones found in Fender’s Mustang series of amps. it can plug directly into a guitar, and play through a pair of headphones or speakers. Practising to backing tracks is easy too, thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity. In total, there are 12 amp models on-board as well as 13 effects, and an overall adjustable EQ and large, easy-to-use volume control.
It charges via USB, with an estimated runtime of four hours of playing before needing a recharge.
The Mustang Micro lists for $99.99 / £89.99 / €99.99.
