Foo Fighters fan? Right now you can get Dave Grohl’s signature Epiphone DG-335 at $500 off
It’s not often a deal comes along where you can save half a grand on a guitar, but at Sweetwater and zZounds right now you can grab the Epiphone Dave Grohl DG-335 signature model with $500 off.
Now reduced to to $799, this Epiphone version of Grohl’s Gibson signature model launched in March 2024 after continued requests from Foo Fighters fans for more than a decade. An initial teaser post from Epiphone on social media showed a graphic resembling the diamond-shaped soundholes in Grohl’s Gibson signature model.

This Epiphone version is still premium-grade despite being a more affordable option. It comes in Pelham Blue (of course), and offers a resonant laminated maple body, Trini Lopez–inspired bound diamond-shaped soundholes, and a one-piece mahogany neck with a laurel fingerboard that hosts split-diamond mother-of-pearl inlays.
Up top there’s a Firebird-style headstock equipped with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners, complementing the LockTone ABR bridge, and tone is powered by a pair of Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups. Sweetwater says these pickups offer “a rich, expressive, and remarkably dynamic humbucking roar”.
At the time of its launch, Epiphone said: “Dave Grohl is an alternative rock legend who needs no introduction. A longtime Gibson user, his previous Gibson signature guitars have remained extraordinarily popular and command premium prices on the used market – when you can find one.”
Grohl recently spoke of the Foo Fighters’ creative dynamic, stating they still make music like a band in a garage. Speaking to Radio X’s John Kennedy about their latest album Your Favorite Toy, the frontman explained that despite decades of success, the group’s creative process hasn’t strayed far from their roots.
“The way we function as a band… I know that all of this is much different than it was when we were young and playing in bands in a garage, but we still function like a band that plays in a fucking garage,” he said. “It’s the same thing! It’s like, ‘Hey, I’ve got a riff,’ and we show it to everybody.
“Maybe people would imagine that we’re a lot more professional than we actually are, but really the way that we function… it’s really similar to [Dave’s previous punk band] Scream.”
