Fulltone’s Instagram account appears to tell Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow to commit suicide in graphic, abusive comment

The official Fulltone Instagram account that doubles as founder Mike Fuller’s personal profile has posted a public comment that seemingly tells a Michigan State Senator to commit suicide.
Mallory McMorrow, a Democrat, posted an Instagram reel on 7 November, replying to a question about women’s rights following the results of the 2024 US presidential election. A screenshot posted to McMorrow’s story shows that, in response to the reel, Fulltone’s Instagram account wrote the following recent comment: “Easy! Place large plastic bag over your head, cinch tight around your neck and count to 2025”. It’s unclear whether the comment – which has since been removed – is addressing either McMorrow, the original question asker, or both.
The Instagram account that made the comment, @fulltone_musical_products_llc, is separate from the latest official Fulltone account, as when Fulltone relaunched in collaboration with Jackson Audio, it created a new account. However, the account that is alleged to have posted the abusive comment does seem to be mainly run by Mike Fuller, with posts mixing personal updates about Fuller’s life and adverts for Fulltone products. It’s also followed by the official accounts of various pedal companies and guitar industry figures – including, importantly, the newer official Fulltone account.

The alleged comment on McMorrow’s reel has drawn severe criticism from guitar pedal players online, particularly in the Guitar Pedals subreddit and on Threads.
Neither Fulltone nor Jackson Audio have commented on the outburst.
McMorrow, Fulltone and Jackson Audio have been contacted for comment.
Fuller’s online comments have previously drawn censure. In 2020, he posted on Fulltone’s official Facebook page, criticising the local response to the protests in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, stating: “What is this like night 4 of looting with 100% impunity. The pussy Mayor and Governor don’t give a shit about small businesses, and it’s never been more clear.”
He followed this up by commenting: “Ahh I feel better, and flushed out some prissy boys who were raised to pee sitting down. Now I’ll delete.”
Fuller later apologised for his remarks, before removing this apology from his page. The ensuing controversy saw Fulltone products boycotted by a number of musicians, and banned from being sold as new on Reverb.com.
In 2022 Fuller closed down his factory in California after 30 years and moved to Nashville, citing financial difficulties with running a large-scale USA-made pedal business. The brand was then relaunched in partnership with Jackson Audio earlier this year.
