Gibson donates hand-crafted acoustics to the students of Gallatin High School
Gibson Gives – the charitable arm of Gibson – has donated hand-crafted acoustic guitars to the Gallatin High School of Gallatin, Tennessee.
Country artist Stephanie Quayle presented 24 young musicians with the instruments, which originated from Gibson’s facility in Bozeman, Montana. In a statement, Gallatin High School principal Erica Schnee expressed her gratitude to the guitar brand. The instruments will allow the school to provide better music education to its students.
“Music is such a powerful influence in all of our lives and learning music has such great benefits to brain development,” she said. “We are so appreciative of Gibson’s generous donations, which allows us to offer guitar classes to students at both high schools and provides them with a creative outlet within their academic schedule.”
Gibson president and CEO James ‘JC’ Curleigh James shared that the donation, he hopes, will help cultivate a strong sense of music in the young students.
“We are proud of our latest partnership in music education between Gibson Gives and Gallatin High School,” he said. “We look forward to supporting the next generation of musicians and songwriters in Bozeman!”
Artist Stephanie Quayle added that she was honoured to represent Gibson in the giveaway. She said: “When I think of my Gibson, it’s more than a guitar – it’s my best friend, my confidant and vessel to share the greatest language we all speak-the language of music.”
Earlier this year, Gibson Gives launched a plan to support musicians affected by the severe storms and tornado that hit central Tennessee on 3 March. It offered to pair musicians who lost their guitars to the storm with a replacement.
