Gibson launches reimagined Les Paul Studio, “The One”
Gibson has introduced a new, reimagined Les Paul Studio, affectionately dubbing it “The One”.
Boasting a weight-relieved mahogany body so it’s lighter and more comfortable to play, the new model also features a carved, plain maple cap which adds brightness and definition to the tone combined with the warmth from the body.

Its glued-in mahogany neck has rock-solid coupling between the neck and body for better resonance and comes with a traditional heel and a fast-playing SlimTaper profile. The 12” fretboard radius is ideal for rhythm guitar and lead string bending too.
Aesthetic appointments include vintage deluxe tuners and four different gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes: Ebony, Blueberry Burst, Wine Red and Cherry Sunburst.
It comes with a pair of Gibson’s Burstbucker Pro pickups and a three-way pickup selector switch, with both pickups wired to their own volume control – which themselves come within push/pull switches for coil tapping, while each one has its own tone control too.
Goodbye June guitarist Tyler Baker says of The One, “Not only could I feel the quality craftsmanship in the new Les Paul Studio, but I could tell immediately how versatile it could be. It’s a guitar I can take on the road, but also a guitar I can use in the studio. The fretboard feels amazing, yet familiar, and the pickups are exceptionally expressive.”
Tash Neal, known for his work with Slash, says he’s “thrilled at how lightweight and playable it is immediately,” while country artist Kenzi Lewis adds, “When I first picked up the Les Paul, it felt smooth, lightweight, and had an amazing tone.”
While The One certainly seems to have been given a thumbs up by a number of musicians so far, you can take a closer look for yourself with the Gibson Gear Guide video below.
The newly reimagined Les Paul Studio is available now for £1,599. For more information, head to Gibson.
