Gojira head back to the studio
Gojira are back in the studio, if the band’s Instagram feed is anything to go by. A photo of a mixing desk, with no accompanying caption was posted yesterday.
The desk looks to be the Digidesign Focusrite Control 24 Surface that resides at the band’s own Silver Cord Studio, where their last album, Magma, was recorded. Magma was released in 2016.
The group have been hinting at new material since earlier this year. Speaking to Idaho rock radio station KBear 101 (per Blabbermouth), drummer Mario Duplantier confirmed that “work is in progress,” and that the band are “very, very, very happy and super proud of [the material]”.
Gojira are known for their odd-time grooves, percussive and galloping guitar parts. They were also recently announced to be playing at Download Festival 2020 in the UK.
