Gojira release Another World, their first new music in four years

Gojira have released their first new music in four years, a single entitled Another World. The song comes alongside a Planet Of The Apes-inspired music video – take a look above.
The song is the first new music from the band since the release of their 2016 LP Magma. It was first teased by the band on social media yesterday, with a short clip from the video. The band also posted updates about being in the studio in some capacity on Instagram a while ago, however, they didn’t provide any further details on a new release. As of right now, Another World looks to be a standalone release, not tied to any new album.
Frontman Joe Duplantier said of the new single: “It is with great excitement that we’re presenting our new track Another World Ferdinand Magellan once said: ‘It is with an iron will that we’ll embark on the most daring of all endeavours, to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown.’
“Is humanity doomed, or will we survive nature’s wrath? Take a glimpse into our shadowy future by watching our take on 1968’s Planet Of The Apes… Another World!”
The band has also recently rescheduled their North American tour alongside Deftones and Poppy to now begin in August of 2021, after the coronavirus pandemic forced them to delay it.
In guitar-related Gojira news, frontman Joe Duplantier announced a new signature model from Charvel earlier this year, a two-humbucker T-style with a natural finish and tune-o-matic bridge. The treble pickup is Duplantier’s new signature pickup from DiMarzio.
