Hall and Oates announce an extensive 2020 tour

Darryl Hall and John Oates have announced an extensive US tour, beginning with a handful of warmup shows in February and March before rolling on from 29 May all the way to 2 September 2020.
Support will be provided by Squeeze and KT Tunstall.
In a statement about the announcement, Hall and Oates both expressed excitement at the choice of support, with Oates saying “Squeeze are unique, have great songs, and don’t sound like anybody else. I’ve been a fan of theirs from the very beginning and our audience is going to love them.” Hall also talks of his working relationship with KT Tunstall, saying “She was one of the first artists I had on Live From Daryl’s House. We just clicked. And now we include her whenever we can because she needs to be exposed as much as possible, especially in America. I’m more than willing to do that. I love her songs and I love singing with her.”
The duo also made it clear they’re going to give their fans what they want when they set out on this tour, with hall saying “A few years back we had a big show where we didn’t play ‘Private Eyes’ for some reason. People got pissed off. They got angry at us. You can’t do that. You have to play these songs.”
The duo first met in 1967, before starting their musical work together in 1970. Since their 1972 debut, Whole Oats, they have released 18 studio albums – most recently 2006’s Home for Christmas. Despite not having released a studio record in over a decade, the duo have continued touring since their inception.
