Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer now wanted by police for storming US Capitol
Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer is now wanted by the police for being part of the mob of President Donald Trump supporters who yesterday (7 January) stormed the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
The Iced Earth frontman appeared in a D.C. Metropolitan Police PowerPoint presentation alongside others who unlawfully breached Capitol grounds. They are wanted for “unrest-related offences”.
Schaffer was photographed as part of a throng of protestors who forced their way past police to enter the Capitol Building and disrupt lawmakers as they were in the process of certifying Joe Biden’s victory at the 2020 US election. The photo was captured by news agency AFP. See it below:

Despite the rioting that saw four people lose their lives, Congress eventually regrouped and certified Biden as the US President-elect.
Vice President Mike Pence has also formally acknowledged Biden and Kamala Harris’s victory. In a statement delivered to Congress yesterday, he said: “The announcement of the state of the vote by the president of the Senate shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the persons elected president and vice president of the United States.”
Earlier today (8 January), President Trump appeared to concede the election for the first time. After a 12-hour ban from Twitter, he returned with a recorded video address, saying: “A new administration will be inaugurated on 20 January. My focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power.”
