Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro releases new wah pedal shortly following Perry Farrell altercation
Following Farrell’s attempt to punch bandmate Dave Navarro on 13th September, Jane’s Addiction were forced into an immediate hiatus. However, guitarist Navarro is hardly going to sit at home crying about it. In fact, his brand new Supreme Cry Baby pedal is set to do all the wah-ing on his behalf.

Crafted in collaboration with streetwear brand Supreme, Navarro’s signature Dunlop pedal is a variant on the Cry Baby Wah GCB95. Though the exact specs are yet to be revealed, Supreme’s Fall/Winter preview reveals that the pedal features a Fasel inductor for a “focused wah sound.”
The Cry Baby Wah has had a few make-overs in its time. Metallica‘s Kirk Hammett released his own purple Cry Baby, while Alice In Chains‘ Jerry Cantrell also had his own. Navarro’s will be the first to have the Supreme touch, however.
Navarro’s Cry Baby wah pedal comes in Supreme’s signature shade of red, topped with a glittering metallic finish. There’s also a few Supreme logos printed on the top and bottom for good measure.
The guitarist announced the collab via Instagram. A short and riff-packed clip shows the wah in action – and it sounds pretty impressive, if you ask us.

Super stoked to work on this collaboration with Supreme and Dunlop,” Navarro writes alongside the post. “The Cry Baby Wah has always been a staple on my board and now it’s available with an ungodly amount of Supreme steeze.”
Perry Farrell’s apology following his onstage outburst hinted at his ongoing mental health struggles.
“This weekend has been incredibly difficult,” Farrell wrote in an Instagram story. “After having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologise to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.
“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behaviour, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
Around the same time Navarro shared the news of the temporary dissolution of the band. “Due to a continuing pattern of behaviour and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour,” he wrote on Instagram. “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.”
“We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets,” the post continues. “There is no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken.”
