Joe Bonamassa promises a “generous reward” for the return of Josh Smith’s lost Two-Rock amp head

Joe Bonamassa promises a “generous reward” for the return of Josh Smith’s lost Two-Rock amp head

From Mason Stoops to Chris Buck, plenty of artists have unfortunately had their gear swiped this year. And it seems there’s no end to the bad luck; blues guitarist Josh Smith suspects that his Two-Rock amp head has gone missing, and his close collaborator, the legendary Joe Bonamassa, seems to suspect it was stolen.
According to an Instagram post from Bonamassa, Smith’s Two-Rock was last seen in Cologne, Germany. “Friends, please help us retrieve Josh Smith’s Two-Rock head that was last seen at the WDR Big Band gig in Cologne, Germany,” the guitarist writes. “It is in a black Two-Rock road case with the letters JS stencilled on it.”

“Any info please reach out as there is a generous reward for its safe return,” he adds. “Please email rachael@jr-adventures.com if you see it around.”
Considering Smith often serves as Bonamassa’s second guitarist in his live band, he’s keen to protect those nearest and dearest to him. And the post will surely stir up some conversation about the whereabouts of the amp head, as Bonamassa has a skill for reconnecting with his stolen gear after a good ol’ public call-out post.

Back in 2021, Bonamassa reported that his Fender Custom Shop 1951 #6 Nocaster was supposedly ‘stolen’ during transit when he posted it out to Guitar World for a review. Within two days of his post, it conveniently made its way back to him.
“Many thanks to all of you out there who helped us in locating JB006,” he wrote in a thank you post. “It is back safe and sound and finally on its way to Guitar World Magazine for review after spending two weeks in brackish custodial custody. This time we are shipping it via Autogyro with the help of the Prussian Consulate.”
As for Smith, we sincerely hope he is reunited with his Two-Rock amp head. And, as Bonamassa says, make sure to email rachael@jr-adventures.com if you have any helpful leads or information.
