“Loud, fast, proud, and tough – for the love of shred!”: Kramer’s new Volante range is designed with shredders in mind

Kramer has revealed its Volante series, with four unique models designed with shredders in mind. Named after the Italian word for “flying” or “light”, the Volante HHFR, Volante HSGT, Volante Quilt HSFR and Volante Quilt HHFR are designed to handle high-velocity riffs and solos with ease.
All four models are built with premium quality materials, with lightweight alder bodies, thermally aged 3-piece maple necks, and the company’s very own Neptune humbucker pickups. The guitars also feature Kramer’s new KeyLock system, developed to improve neck stability.

The new KeyLock system is supported by a five-bolt neck-to-body joint, which prevents movement in the neck pocket, thus increasing vibrational tone transfer, sustain and intonation.
All four guitars also come with 24 jumbo frets, a compound fretboard radius of 10-14” and a scale length of 25.5”. It’s a design Kramer insists is “loud, fast, proud, and tough – for the love of shred!”

Three of the four guitars – the Volante HSGT, Volante Quilt HSFR and Volante Quilt HHFR – are fitted with a Floyd Rose R3 locking nut and 1000 Series tremolo, while the other model, the Volante, HSGT, instead boasts a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut and locking die cast tuners.
The Kramer Volante HSFR and HSGT models also feature a brand new, noiseless single coil Triton pickups made by the Gibson Pickups Shop. They’re wired to master volume and tone controls, with a push/pull switch for series and parallel switching of the bridge humbucker. There’s also a three-way blade-style pickup selector switch.

Elsewhere, the Volante and Volante Quilt HHFR models have a 5-way blade-style pickup selector switch, with each position boasting hum-cancelling properties.
In terms of pricing, the Volante Quilt HHFR and HSFR models are the most costly of the bunch, with their quilt maple veneer top designs both coming in at $1,199. The Volante Quilt HHFR comes in Ultramarine Burst and Ultraviolet Burst, while the Volante Quilt HSFR is available in Magenta Burst and Aqua Burst.

The Kramer Volante HHFR is the only model available in both left and right handed designs, and comes in Defender Red and Intruder Black. It costs $1,049. The Kramer Volante HSGT is available in Triburst and Angel White, costing $999.00.
“The Volante proves we’re not resting on our laurels at Kramer,” Lewis McKinney, Brand Manager at Epiphone and Kramer, explains. “Inspired by past success, but built for new frontiers, the Volante is made for players who demand speed, performance, and excellence – and we’re stoked to be part of your journey.”
