Miley Cyrus’s next record is set to be an “entire” rock album

In addition to an upcoming Metallica covers album, it seems Miley Cyrus’ next studio album, Plastic Hearts, is set to be a fully-fledged dive into a heavier sound.
Confirming the suspicions on Twitter, Cyrus responded to a fan who wrote: “Girls don’t want boyfriends, girls want Miley Cyrus to release an entire rock album.” She said in response: “Fuck yes! Your wish is my command baby.”

Plastic Hearts is set for release on 27 November. It comes after her 2017 Younger Now, which had a distinctly more country sound than its predecessor, the experimental Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.
The news also follows a number of rock covers from Cyrus, including The Cranberries’ Zombie, Blondie’s Heart Of Glass and Pearl Jam’s Just Breathe. Per her chat with Interview Magazine, Cyrus is also currently working on an album of Metallica Covers. This itself follows her performance of the metal band’s song Nothing Else Matters at Glastonbury festival 2019.
