Monty’s Guitars debuts vintage-spec’d Originals pickups

Monty’s Guitars is a London-based repair shop that’s known for its range of guitar works and in-house pickups. The Monty’s team have now released Originals, a series of pickups designed to be “sonically indistinguishable” from vintage models of the 50s and 60s.
The inspiration for Originals came from the team’s encounter with golden-era electric guitars. By studying the vintage pickups in these axes, Monty’s has tried their hand at recreating them faithfully.
Standouts from the Originals series include the PAF Humbucker and ’61 mini-humbucker sets. The former is the group’s take on the PAFs found in ’58-’60 Les Paul Standards, while the latter features miniaturised humbuckers with extra bite, top-end and mid-range. Rounding out the nine-strong line-up are the ’50 Broadcaster, ’53 Telecaster, ’54 and ’62 Stratocasters, ’59 Jazzmaster, ’54 P-90 and ’62 P-bass pickup sets.
Pricing for the Originals pickups starts from £85 (single pickup) and £180 (set). More info at montysguitars.com.
