NAMM 2020: Fender’s MTG Tube Tremolo uses NOS tubes to boost tone

NAMM 2020: Fender has announced the MTG Tube Tremolo – the brand’s next foray into tube-driven effects.
The MTG Tube Tremolo’s all-analogue circuit design is based on a genuine NOS 6205 preamp tube, designed in collaboration between Fender and Bruce Egnater. The pedal features a three-knob layout for controlling output level (Level), overall tremolo rate (Speed) and presence (Intensity).
A three-position toggle can be used to switch between three tremolo modes, while the additional Wave knob can be used to blend between different waveforms instead of choosing just one. The MTG Tube Tremolo also features a dedicated tap tempo switch which allows access to various note subdivisions.
Fender has housed the MTG Tube Tremolo in a lightweight yet durable anodised aluminium enclosure and incorporated switchable LED back-lit knobs to allow at-glance legibility under poor lighting.
Due to the MTG Tube Tremolo’s tube-based design, it can only be powered via a 9VDC power supply.
Fender also recently unveiled a massive lineup of new guitars for its 2020 lineup, along with three new artist signature models. New models include American Original and Player series expansions along with the new Parallel Universe Volume 2 designs. Fender has also reintroduced its left-of-field Player Lead II, Player Lead III and HM Stratocaster models. Meanwhile, the new artist signature models include guitars for Eric Johnson, Jim Root and Tom Morello.
The Fender MTG Tube Tremolo will be available Spring for $199.99 (list). For more information, click here.
