Nashville star Sam Palladio to tour the UK in support of debut solo album
While Sam Palladio’s country twanging first struck a chord on ABC’s musical drama Nashville, the guitarist is finally embarking on his first solo venture. With a fresh debut album under his belt, Palladio is set to tour the UK this September.
Palladio’s Before We Lost The Light headline tour will mark the release of The Perfect Summer’s Day, Before We Lost The Light, which dropped last week. The record serves as a bold evolution from Palladio’s days as Gunnar Scott. It’s a sign of the guitarist shedding the skin of the country heartthrob, emerging as a renewed rockstar.

Palladio’s debut is a lush collection of reflective guitar tracks. From the gentle thrum of Meanwhile in London, to the buoyant introspection of Tears in the Carpark, there’s plenty of easy-breezy tunes on offer. There’s even hints of slick, poppy rock ‘n’ roll, the bounce of B.O.A.T oozing charm.
And there’s some solid features too, like Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett’s country-fused riffing on Tennessee. Palladio even manages to calm down Biffy Clyro and Empire State Bastard frontman Simon Neil, the pair crooning together on the silky smooth Spill Your Heart.
The Cornish singer’s tour will kick off on the 22nd at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club. He’ll also be hitting Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham, before closing off at London’s Omeara on the 30th September.
Acoustic pop maestro Jamie Lawson has been announced as the main tour support. And Palladio is chuffed. “I’ve been a fan of Jamie for years ever since hearing his beautiful song Wasn’t Expecting That,” he explains. “Over the years we’ve had the chance to hang out together in Nashville and I thought there would be no one better to share the stage with than a great songwriter and storyteller like Jamie.”
“Jamie and I both hail from the West Country and it’s always great to collaborate with an artist who you share common ground with,” Palladio continues. “For me, the Cornish landscape has shaped my music. I wanted to celebrate great talent from our little corner of England.”
Tickets are available now.
