“One of the most significant surviving acoustic guitars from the late 1960s” is for sale on Reverb – owned by George Harrison and Eric Clapton

An incredibly rare acoustic guitar, owned and played by both George Harrison and Eric Clapton, has been listed for sale on Reverb.
The guitar, a 1913 Gibson Style O archtop model, is rated as “museum-grade”, and is from the Estate of Delaney Bramlett (its late owner). According to the listing, Bramlett also used the guitar in songwriting circles during the creation of tracks like Let It Rain and other works that helped launch Clapton’s solo career, the formation of Derek & The Dominos, and Harrison’s All Things Must Pass era.

Reverb shop Victor Vault details an incredible history for the guitar, which was nicknamed as ‘Pattie’. Clapton and Harrison used it during their collaborations in 1968 near the end of both The Beatles and Cream, as they both began their own career endeavours.
It was also played and subsequently photographed in-use during their earliest songwriting sessions for Badge, which took place in October 1968. The listing states that the song was recorded the very same week during the sessions for Cream’s Goodbye album at Wally Heider Studios, Hollywood.
“George would re-use the bridge portion of Badge, referring to the bridge of Here Comes The Sun as The Son Of Badge in the original lyrics sheet – owing to its shockingly similar compositional elements and giving this instrument an extremely unique connection to both Cream AND The Beatles final albums,” the description reads.
Pattie has been authenticated and forensically matched. It has a mid-century Gibson L-48 archtop tailpiece (installed by Clapton/Bramlett era luthier, Milt Owen), 1950s/60s Gibson 3×3 strip tuners, and has a mid 60s Gibson Vintage hard shell case.
The guitar was refinished around 1968 and touched up in the modern era, but the date of this is unknown. It has had several repairs, including a period-correct neck reset, fretboard binding repairs (visible in both vintage and modern photos), a bridge replacement, and a “professional playability restoration” refret.
This guitar has an asking price of $949,999 USD, and best offers will be considered. You’ll need to reach out to the shop directly if you’re interested, and it’s listed as local pick-up only in Berlin, New Jersey, USA.
