Paul Stanley calls Trump’s attempts to ‘find’ more votes in Georgia “a true danger” to democracy
KISS co-founder Paul Stanley has lashed out against Donald Trump for his latest controversy: a leaked phone call in which the President can allegedly be heard asking Georgia’s Secretary Of State to “find” more votes in an attempt to overturn his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden.
In response to the call, the recording of which was first obtained by the Washington Post, Stanley joined a chorus of critics in castigating President Trump. The KISS man labelled the US Commander-in-chief’s behaviour as “abhorrent” and a “true danger to our democracy”.
“The issue isn’t that it won’t work,” Stanley tweeted yesterday (4 January). “It’s mob boss behaviour and politicians putting party over audits, investigations, court rulings and country in an effort to overrule the will of American voters”

The hourlong phone call was allegedly made on 2 January between Trump and Brad Raffensperger of Georgia, a Republican. During the call, the President can be heard criticising Raffensperger for refusing to acknowledge his election ‘victory’. Trump also allegedly made repeated claims of electoral fraud.
“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state,” President Trump reportedly said during the call. “You should want to have an accurate election. And you’re a Republican.”
Stanley himself faced some backlash for his tweet. Some users felt he wasn’t qualified to comment on the matter, as he isn’t a political expert. Nevertheless, Stanley defended his opinion.
“I voice my opinions as a proud citizen of this country I love deeply,” he tweeted yesterday. “My profession shouldn’t disallow that as we all have that right so many have fought and died protecting.”
“I also understand that the people who would like me to stay quiet are those who don’t share my views. Sorry.”
