Peavey beefs up Max bass amp series with 300-watt combo

Peavey has announced the Max 300, its newest addition to the Max bass amp series. By integrating the innovative features of the Max series into a 2×10 format, this 300-watt combo is primed for huge low-end thumps.
Like its smaller siblings, the Max 300 comes with an angled baffle that directs the speakers’ projection to your ears. You’ll be able to get a louder and clearer sound without having to tilt the amp, according to the brand.
The amp’s overall tone is enhanced by two of Peavey’s internal components. The first is an in-built Kosmos-C bass circuit that is designed to enliven tone by adding both harmonics and subharmonics. The second is Peavey’s patented DDT clip-limiting technology which shields the two speakers from spikes in frequency and grants you more freedom in laying down those loud bass slaps.

On the control front, the amp sports a three-band EQ, a gain control and a master volume. It also features a gain boost – with Contour, Mid-Shift and Bright presets – as well as a handy built-in chromatic tuner.
Round the amp’s back, you’ll find a range of I/Os, including a speaker out, an EFX loop, an 1/8-inch headphone output and an ‘ultra-quiet’ XLR DI out.
Retails at $499.94. More info at peavey.com.
