Rivolta unveils the Regata VII
Rivolta Guitars has announced its latest model of electric guitar: the Regata VII. The Dennis Fano-designed semi-hollow, perhaps unsurprisingly to those familiar with his aesthetic preferences, features an offset body, with an F-hole each side of its centre block.
Construction for the double-bound body consists of a weight-relieved mahogany centre block and mahogany sides, as well as a top and back made from pressed maple. The set neck is also mahogany. Its carve comes in at what Rivolta describes as a “chunky C+ profile,” and the guitar’s scale length measures at 25 inches.

The neck is topped with a bound ebony fretboard and wide-block pearloid inlays. Notably, the guitar features 24 medium-jumbo frets – a number rarely seen on vintage-inspired instruments. The guitar’s f-holes take their design inspiration from the Rivolta logo, and the angular offset body allows for a deep lower cutaway for access to all 24 frets.
While the number of frets might not evoke a vintage aesthetic, the two pickups in the guitar should do, as they’re Rivolta’s own PAF-inspired Brevetto humbuckers. These are controlled by a master volume and tone, as well as a three-way toggle switch.

The nickel-finished hardware consists of a stoptail and tune-o-matic-style bridge, as well as Kluson-style tuners.
The Regata VII lists for $1499, and ships with a premium Rivolta gigbag.
