The latest entry to the duo’s Sunday Lunch video series arrived on 23 May on YouTube. “Toyah, Robert and Sidney belt out another classic with a twist of the feline variety,” wrote the video’s description.
In this instalment, Toyah dressed up as Catwoman outfit, complete with a whip. Meanwhile, guitarist Sydney Jake joined in to play second guitar once again.
“Toyah, Robert and Sidney belt out another classic with a twist of the feline variety!” Willcox captioned the new video. Watch the performance below.
The video also announced that limited-edition apparel, commemorating the series, is now available for pre-order. At press time, there are seven designs available – see them all here. According to the site, the shirts will begin shipping in June.
Fripp and Toyah launched their Sunday Lunch cover series at the height of coronavirus lockdowns around the world. Speaking in an interview, Fripp explained, “Performers have a responsibility to perform and at this particular time to keep people’s spirits up.”
“This is a very English cultural tradition,” he told Rolling Stone in an interview published on 24 March. “Essentially, when things are really bad in England, what you do is begin laughing and do silly things. A good reference point is the Ministry of Silly Walks on Monty Python. Now it’s, ‘Robert puts on a tutu and dances to Swan Lake at the river’s edge with his wife.’ So I have followed my wife’s sense and vision of these things.”
In last week’s episode of the series, the couple took things “to the extreme” with a cover of The Prodigy’s 1996 song, Firestarter.
