Slash says Guns N’ Roses would’ve been ‘cancelled’ today: “We would not have fared well in this environment, for sure”

Guitar icon Slash believes that Guns N’ Roses would not have survived ‘cancel culture’ with their wild antics had the band debuted in today’s environment.

Speaking to Yahoo News Today about his upcoming coffee table book, The Collection: Slash, the guitarist explained how much of the band’s raucous rock n’ roll lifestyle would never fly in the days of the Internet.
“I haven’t actually… thought about it in that context. I mean, to be honest, I haven’t really thought about all that [scandalous stuff] that much recently,” Slash said. “But now that you mention it, most of everything that [Guns N’ Roses] did would’ve gotten us cancelled in this day and age.”
“We would not have fared well in this environment, for sure — I mean, on so many different levels.”
“But I mean, a lot of things from back then would not be what you consider acceptable at this moment in time,” the musician, whose name was once synonymous with wild parties and hotel-thrashing, added. “I’m just glad that we didn’t have the internet back then! It would’ve been a different world altogether.”
“But anyway, I don’t dwell on all that stuff. It just is what it is.”
In other news, Guns N’ Roses have confirmed that they will be headlining UK’s Glastonbury festival this coming June. The band will be joined by Rocketman Elton John, whose headline performance will be his last ever show on British soil.
“As the end of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour comes into view, there is no more fitting way to say goodbye to my British fans,” John said in a statement.
