“This bass is a reflection of everything I love about playing” Blu DeTiger launches her first signature bass guitar with Fender
Solo artist Blu DeTiger, who rose to fame on TikTok, has unveiled her first ever signature model with Fender. The Limited Edition Blu DeTiger x Player Plus Jazz Bass is described as a fusion of her “funky style”, with “unparalleled power, and cutting-edge innovation”.
Though she first started playing bass at the age of seven, Blu caught the attention of millions with her viral bass covers on TikTok. She has since released an EP, 2021’s How Did We Get Here?, and now a debut album, All I Ever Want Is Everything. She has worked with artists such as Caroline Polachek and Bleachers, and even has co-writing credits from the likes of Chappell Roan on her new record.

Blu wanted the model to offer versatility so that it could seamlessly transition from the stage to the studio. It features custom electronics that she handpicked herself, including a “growling pickup configuration” for both punchy lows and articulate highs.
Aesthetic-wise, it combines both modern sleekness with vintage-inspired elements, showcasing a Sky Burst Sparkle finish, with the addition of chrome hardware and a mirrored pickguard. It has an offset ash body, chambered to keep the bass lightweight and comfortable, and there’s also a satin finished maple neck, bound 9.5” rosewood fingerboard and vintage tall frets for smooth playability.
The Custom Blu DeTiger Fireball bass humbucker and Player Plus Noiseless Jazz Bass Pickups “fuse vintage charm with modern punch”, and it also hosts an 18V Player Plus preamp with three-band EQ and active/passive toggle for sculpting tone and capturing the funky snap and growl that defines Blu’s sound.
