Watch: David Hasselhoff singing his first-ever metal song is exactly what you’d expect
After about two years of collaboration, David Hasselhoff and Austrian metal band CueStack have launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the video for a forthcoming track, Through The Night.
The song, which is Hasselhoff’s first-ever metal track, has already been recorded, and the band are seeking €6,000 by 1 December to complete post-production of the video. According to CueStack, the video will adopt a “dystopian retro sci-fi/cyberpunk” theme. Footage of the Hoff was shot for the video last year in Vienna, Austria.
The collaboration began two years ago when the band, huge fans of the former Baywatch star, began exchanging demos and ideas with the Hoff himself.
They added: “[We] financed the entire project by ourselves until now, to avoid giving up any creative freedom when it comes to the song and music video.”
An array of rewards are being offered to backers of the campaign. A basic €5 pledge includes a digital download of the song, its making-of documentary, a digital art book and a backer certificate.
The €350 Ultimate Hasselhoff Fan Package – which is now sold out – included a card autographed by the Hoff, plus two hoodies and backstage passes from his 2018 European tour.
CueStack closed off their message to would-be backers by writing: “If you love the Hoff, metal, rock, and everything in-between, come on board, let’s make this happen!”
In other recent news of celebrities taking on metal music, pop icon Miley Cyrus has revealed that she’s been working on an album of Metallica covers.
