DarkRay 5 pickup selector

Hello! I have a DarkRay 5 and even though I love the Dark Glass internal distortion circuit, I am not liking the fact that you can’t change the pickup coils like you would on a standard H pickup Stingray in the clean position. Can you put a coil selector switch that will work with the clean setting or will it affect the distortion settings as well?
