Allen & Heath will present specialist classes at the inaugural AES@NAMM Pro Sound Symposium during NAMM 2018, between January 25-28.

Allen & Heath USA live sound touring manager and monitor engineer Michael Bangs will present three 60-minute ‘masterclass’ sessions to share tips and tricks accumulated over his years of experience on the road working closely with engineers of all levels.

Bangs’ first session, a specialised Festival Mixing Masterclass, will offer hands-on training with emphasis on the quick changeovers needed in a high pressure festival environment.

Focused on the unique needs of the church audio operator, Bangs’ second AES@NAMM session, House of Worship Masterclass, will demonstrate general concepts as well as dLive-specific tips and tricks for improving worship mix intelligibility and balance. Whether mixing for a congregation of 50 or 5,000, a single guitar and vocal or a full praise band and worship leaders, this session will present the skills to deliver an optimal audio experience.

In his third session, Monitoring Mixing Masterclass, Bangs will share guiding principles to help ensure success for the performers on stage, whether dealing with in-ear monitors, wedges or a combination, getting the best experience for fans in the audience.

In addition to these three Masterclass sessions, Bangs will present a half-day dLive Certification Class which offers InfoComm International Renewal Units (RU).

Rounding out the training series, Jerry Lopez (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Chicano Batman, The Neighbourhood) will present ‘dLive en Español’ (entirely in Spanish). Topics within this ‘Masterclass’ include Allen & Heath dLive console operation, signal routing concepts and system configuration tips for quickly setting up a basic mix.

“We are proud to join a select group of respected pro audio manufacturers in support of AES and NAMM to provide top-tier training for engineers of all levels and backgrounds,” said Jeff Hawley, marketing manager for Allen & Heath USA. “Allen & Heath will offer something for everyone at this symposium from focused masterclass-style sessions to a full dLive certification class with InfoComm International Renewal Units (RU).”

Preregistration is required for all ‘AES at NAMM’ sessions and seating is limited. Go to the AES website for class schedules, locations and other information.
