Danelectro Goes Grey With ‘64XT & ’59X-12
The new Danelectro 6 string ’64XT and 12 string ‘59X12 electric guitars are now both available in a stunning Ice Grey finish.
This new ‘all-over’ finish, which includes the body, neck and classic Dano Coke bottle headstock, more than highlights the 12 string ‘59X12’s iconic short-horn double cutaway body and the 6 string ’64XT’s modern and authentic adaptation of that classic, off-set, reversed double cutaway body shape from the 1950’s. This striking colour is also offset on the ‘64XT with a cool Black Marble pickguard.
Hardware and electrics for both of these highly respected guitars include master volume and master tone controls, 3-way selector switch and single coil pickup with large housing angled at the neck. Back in the bridge position, a dual humbucking lipstick pickup is installed at the opposite angle, with coil tapping facilities offering the classic Danelectro tone at humbucker or single coil outputs.
Straight string-pull from the machine heads to a fully adjustable Wilkinson vibrato, via a precision cut graphite nut, allows the ‘64XT return to zero pitch every time, whilst the same engineering to the ‘59X12’s fixed bridge via an aluminium nut, also ensures accurate and stable tuning.
