Matt Bell goes solo with new venture
Matt Bell, former sales director for Proel UK, has announced a new UK venture – MJB Distribution. MJB kicks off with two brands new to the UK – GRBass, a range of professional class bass amplification, and Soundsation, a portfolio of MI and Audio products from one of Italy’s largest manufacturers.
Bell, who cut his teeth in his native South Africa, before relocating to the UK in 2003, was with Proel for 14 years, eventually as sales director and brand manager for Cort guitars, before leaving last Autumn.
‘Our approach at MJB Distribution is going to be a highly personalised one’, he says. ‘We’ll be providing music stores, rental and installation companies with products catering to their specific requirements from two great, family owned and managed businesses, which offer really great products.
‘Soundsation was formed back in 2005 and is part of a larger company that was established in 1976. There are four divisions – Classic MI, Modern MI, Professional Audio & Lighting and each provides a comprehensive catalogue of products under one roof. Their main focus is providing dealers with a wide range of products and services as ‘single source’ provider
‘Soundsation is a really significant company. The warehouse and logistics feature an impressive semi-automated 10,000 square metre premises with regular scheduled deliveries of excellent products at great prices.
‘GRBass was founded by Gianfranco Rizzi and is a premium bass amp range offering a very high quality sound from lightweight gear, entirely made in Italy, to a high standard and coming with a five year warranty.
‘We’ve arranged full UK-based servicing and warranty facilities for both brands and are ready to start talking with UK retailers now. I’d like to add that this came about thanks to Paolo Burocchi, who I’d like to thank for his help and support in securing our brands. Paolo has an extensive network of contacts and friends in the music industry and was able to introduce me to these companies’.
