Broadway Drummer and Rock Veteran Dena Tauriello Joins SONOR Drums Artist Roster
SONOR Drums proudly announces the addition of accomplished drummer, educator, and Broadway mainstay Dena Tauriello to its artist roster. With a career spanning rock arenas, recording studios, and some of Broadway’s biggest productions, Tauriello brings a wealth of experience, musicality, and passion to the SONOR brand.
Currently holding the drum chair for the critically acclaimed and Grammy nominated Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, Dena is also a sub for the Broadway productions of Hamilton and Six (both drum and percussion). Her resume includes appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, as well as previous roles on Broadway’s Head Over Heels, Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls, and sub positions for Beetlejuice, The Cher Show, and The Heart of Rock and Roll.
“Broadway pits require precision and consistency not just in terms of performance, but also in terms of sound,” says Tauriello. “The feel, tone, look and craftsmanship of SONOR drums are unmatched and will help me deliver night after night.” Dena has chosen the SONOR Vintage and ProLite series as her preferred drum kits.
Before her transition to musical theater, Tauriello spent nearly two decades touring and recording with the all-female rock band Antigone Rising. Signed to Lava/Atlantic Records, the group sold over 250,000 copies of their debut release From the Ground Up in partnership with Starbucks’ Hear Music series. They were featured on VH1, the Today Show, The Tonight Show, and twice served as Arts Envoys for the U.S. State Department in Israel, Palestine, and Vietnam.
Dena’s versatility has led to collaborations with an impressive roster of artists across genres, including Josh Groban, Jennifer Holliday, Audra McDonald, Nicole Scherzinger, Vanessa Williams, Lea Salonga, and Rob Thomas, among others. Her work has also been featured in Modern Drummer and the book Sticks ‘n’ Skins.
As a clinician, freelance writer, and Certified Drum Therapist through the D.A.D. (Drums and Disabilities) program, Tauriello continues to advocate for the impact of rhythm beyond the stage.
