Manchester’s 2019 UK Drum Show only ‘days away from fully booked’
Just three weeks after 2018’s UK Drum Show closed its doors, the organiser reports that next year’s event, again to be held in Manchester, is nearing the sold out point.
Gold Media and Events say 2018 exhibitors were calling as early as 9.30 am the day after the show closed enquiring about stand space for next year’s event and that confirmed bookings since then have led to discussions about whether the show can be expanded to accommodate new exhibitors and those looking for increased stand space. Next year’s show will take place on 21st and 22nd September, again at Manchester Central.
‘Not only have existing exhibitors booked up in record time, but stand sizes have increased with further investments from the likes of Meinl, Westside (Sabian, Gon Bops, Vater), Sonor and Turkish Cymbals opting for bigger stands but we have seen the return of Headstock Distribution with premium brands Zildjian, Tama, Aquarian and Schlagwerk’, says Gold Media and Events’ Neil Golding.
‘Planning a long way ahead for a show like this is essential and we have already secured some artist appearances for next year, announcements about which will start spearing in the next few weeks. We had an increase in footfall for 2018, reaching 3,468 guests in what was only our second year and we are sure we can boost that for next year in what is becoming an increasingly international show.
‘I’m always an optimist but the trade’s response to this year’s show in the way it has booked-up for next year’s event has been overwhelming. The only downside is that we will, quite literally, be sold out of space within the next few weeks.’
