Musikmesse’s Music4Kidz project morphs into ‘Discover Music
The Frankfurt Musikmesse’s Music4Kidz programme, which is claimed to have given more than 140,000 children the chance to experience making music is being rebranded as ‘Discover Music’ for 2017.
‘Over recent years, Music4Kidz gave more than 140,000 children the chance to embark on a journey of discovery into the worlds of tones and sound. Now, under the ‘Discover Music’ banner, the special area for young people at Musikmesse is shifting its focus to testing and discovering instruments in a playful way under the supervision of experienced music teachers’, says Wolfgang Lücke, Head of Special Events & Entertainment, Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound. The location is also new: ‘Discover Music’ will be held in a 600 square-metre tent on the outdoor exhibition area.
As in the past, kindergarten groups from the entire Rhine-Main region are invited to take part. On hand will be a team of experienced musicians and teachers from the Frankfurt Music Academy who will help participants take their first steps with musical instruments.
The ‘Discover Music’ area is also open to all other Musikmesse visitors and will not only give them the chance to try out musical instruments but also to discover the musical direction best suited to them. The various areas in the tent reflect the wide range of product groups to be seen at the fair.
The project sponsors, who have provided the musical instruments and the equipment, include Alpine Hearing Protection, Gahrens + Battermann, Klangschalen Center, Musik Meyer, Session Music, Terré and Yamaha.
