New Magnetone gains reverb

Magnetone, the venerable American brand relaunched to great acclaim by US industry figure Ted Kornblum, has a new model – the Varsity Reverb.
With users already including Jeff Beck, the current Varsity model maintains the Magnetone policy of 100 per cent US manufacture using American parts and point-to-point wiring but now includes a spring reverb.
‘The Varsity was designed to deliver that classic, all-American tone in studio with rich harmonics, amazing headroom with touch-sensitivity to die for,’ said Magnetone Founder and President, Ted Kornblum. ‘The new Varsity Reverb provides more range and options, and has the muscle to accompany artists on-stage.’
The Varsity Reverb is a push-pull 15 Watt amplifier powered by two EL84 power tubes with two 12AX7s in the pre-amp and has traditional Magnetone vintage brown and gold cosmetics. The newcomer features a valve-driven Accutronics spring reverb.
‘We are excited to see artists using our in live performances, including David Crosby who is using the new Varsity Reverb on tour this May in support of his new album, Lighthouse,’ said Kornblum.
